Birthday Festivities

So as the title suggest I just had a birthday! I am a birthday lover. I love celebrating, mine, friends and family no matter who I cant help but celebrating with them. This may not be a shock for some people but I am a Pisces, we are renowned for being very passionate about birthdays.  As long as I can remember Birthdays have been special for me, definitely more than any other holidays or celebrations in the year. I feel that with other celebrations there not as individual, as most people are celebrating them with you and it’s not so special. Don’t get me wrong I love Christmas and Easter but there something so more special and personalised about birthdays, a day just for you.

So not like we need an excuse to get together, but I did organised a night out for my friends and I. As I haven’t been going out that much lately I wanted to go to a cocktail bar and just relax, have a dance and some delicious drinks with my dearest friends.
When it came to my outfit I went shopping with an open mind, surprise, surprise though I ended up with a black dress. When I tried on this dress I knew straight away that this was what I was wearing. I literally said to my friends Kate and Pauline this is it from the changing rooms happy with excitement.

Now we know I am not shy from some dramatic, statement costume jewellery.  So my friends helped me pick out a beautiful necklace that had some gorgeous bright blue stones on it. I loved how it looked with the dress. I added some blue into my eye shadow to enhance and make the colour from my necklace pop.

Pamper Night Essentials

There nothing more that I love than a girls night in or a pamper night. Since I can remember I have always loved these and I remember having my friends over for a pamper sesh while in high school. Being a girly girl I love everything about giving my body a relaxing night in to rejuvenate and unwind from a stressful week. My Pamper night usually starts off with a bath, face musk, hair musk, tan, mani and pedi.
Recently I was excited as I had nothing planned for my Saturday night, so while shopping I thought why not treat myself to a spa night in. I went and purchased a few goodies, I immediately thought of Lush! I was given some products as a gift and I fell in love. So I stopped by there and Priceline to pick up some essentials.

The Bath Bomb was a dream I didn't use the whole bath bomb as I didn't think it was needed. I actually cut it into quarters which I found was more than enough. The little black container is a travel or sample size of there cuticle butter which is great. Now that I've tried it I would buy the full size. And the silver container is an all purpose balm. I like this products except for the smell.

I found that this deep down detox really did cleanse my impurities and clean out my pores. The smell is pleasant and I didn't find it to harsh on my skin.

One word WOW I have never used a hot oil treatment on my hair before and this was exceptional! It is so simple and easy to use but I found it left my hair feeling light and conditioned. I had to use 2 of the little tubes because of my hair length but with a price of less than $10.00 I didn't mind at all.

And of course Candles. Nothing says pamper night more than filling the air with my favourite aroma.

Let me know how you like to spend your Girls night in!

Electric Blue!!

Electric Blue, not an eye Shadow colour I normally lean towards but for my outfit on Saturday night I thought it was the perfect way to spice up my Little Black Dress (LBD). As you know I would normally team this with a smokey eye or my signature Emerald green look, but for this occasion I thought I would try something different. My outfit for Saturday night was a very simple black dress, this is why I wanted to go dramatic with my hair and makeup.

The following products were used to create this look
Bh Cosmetics 88 Shadow palette
Maybelline Colour Tattoo- in Electric blue
Napoleon Perdis loose dust in - Blue number 29
NYX- Frosted Ocean
Wet n Wild Coloricon in - Blue
Mac paint pot- Black
MUA- Lashes

And these products where just for the eyes. This look took me around 45 minutes but was well worth the effort. One tip I would suggest when doing a dramatic eye like this is to start with the eyes first, just in case there is any fallout. I also tapped sticky tape under my eye, to help remove the glitter and eyeshadow fallout. This also helps make a perfect line from the end of my lashes to the end of my brow.
For my hair I used good old fashion Hot Rollers. For me this is the best way to get big, bouncy, Victoria Secret Curls. To create the extra volume I teased my hair before putting in the rollers. I have found by completing this step first it doesn't wreck the curls afterwards.

My Weekend

Wow was I glad it was the weekend! It’s been a hard week for me so I was happy to kick up my heels and spend time with my friends and family.  Well kind of anyways, it all began the following Saturday I was sick of being sick, feeling tired and not 100% so I decided to do something about it! I booked in to see a naturopath; it was definitely an eye opener to say the least. Even though I am big, I exercise, don’t drink alcohol, don’t smoke and eat a pretty good diet, I thought my body would be a little better.  Especially because I am not running, and getting fast food on my lunch break and I do monitor what I eat on a daily bases. So when the Naturopath rattled off a list of things I was truly shocked, well definitely with some things anyways.  I won’t bore you with the details but I knew if I wanted to feel better I would have to up the ante.  I am starting with a three week detox. 1 week down and feeling great it was hard at first because I am eating gluten free and having No caffeine HENCE why I was glad it was the weekend , not to cheat but just so I was more relaxed! I will definitely update you with what I have been doing and my progress.
Anyways on with the weekend, Saturday I went up to my favourite shopping mall Karrinyup to have a look around, who I am I kidding I went up there to spend some serious cash on makeup lol but I didn’t, I held constraint for once I was like Suzie you are building a house do you really this!!!! The answer was of course! lol just joking I didn’t , but I did buy 2 more Maybeline Whispers to which I am in love with by the way. I would have to say there my favourite lipstick of the year.

Apart from my shopping adventure I had a cruisy day at home until that night, where I was going out my all my fav girlies. I haven’t been clubbing in a while, so I was excited to get dolled up and hit the town. What a night I can easily say it was one of my best girl’s nights out night in months. So after many of hours dancing the night away it was time to put up the heels and head home. As I wasn’t drinking I drove in to make it easier. I normally park at my trusty parking lot but to my surprise at 1.20am on Sunday morning it now closes at 1.00!!!!! Meaning my car was locked away with no way home! I have to laugh about it now but at the time I was freezing an over it. But when I think about it these little hiccups are what you and your girl friends will laugh at in years to come. Let’s just say after everything I didn’t go to bed until 4.00. Great night though wouldn’t change a thing.
I am very lucky to have the people I do have in my life and it was fun to share and make another incredible memory with them!

I hope everyone had a amazing weekend too!

Girls Night

What a weekend!!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend relaxing and spending time with friends and family. I had an amazing weekend but of course they go so fast. My weekend started for me with going to Metro Freo a club in Perth to go see DJ’s The Stafford Brothers. This was my first time seeing them live and they did not disappoint! The girls and I got dressed up for a night on the town which was something I hadn’t done in a while as I don’t really drink. Let’s just say I had too many shots in a result of getting home around 3.30am after dancing and drinking the night away.  It’s safe to say I won’t be doing that again for another couple of months.
